About Dr. Dahan

Dr. Dahan is a psychiatrist who specializes in treating adults using psychodynamic psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and medication management. Her approach to treatment emphasizes emotions in the context of your life's experiences. Her care is individualized, compassionate, safe, and entirely confidential.  It is her belief that every person who seeks psychiatric care deserves partnership with an experienced and trusted physician who can not only diagnose illness and provide symptom relief, but who empowers individual growth.  


Dr. Dahan received her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, after completing  her undergraduate education, majoring in pharmacology, at SUNY Stony Brook.  She then pursued 4 years of post-graduate residency training in psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, where she was chosen to be Chief Resident, and received the C. Harold Taylor, MD Psychotherapy Award for excellence in psychotherapy. She then completed a year long fellowship in forensic psychiatry.  


Dr. Dahan is double Board Certified, in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.  She is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. In 2021, she was awarded the NYU Department of Psychiatry Clinical Faculty Mentor of the Year award. 


Dr. Dahan teaches and mentors resident physicians, and works as a forensic psychiatrist at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, helping those with treatment refractory severe persistent mental illness, using her expertise in assessing risk.  Her private practice is located in Englewood, NJ. 


Dr. Dahan's specialty is the  treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, OCD, panic, trauma related disorders, and psychosis.
